Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are solid solution strengthened, commercially pure 99% nickel alloys. Nickel 201 was a modification of 200 to control carbon (0.02% max), this lower carbon content reduces hardness and makes the alloy 201 suitable for cold-formed items and use at higher temperatures. The elemental restrictions of both result in a single alloy with the desired characteristics of both alloys; Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are combined into the dual-certified Nickel 200/201.
Characteristics
- High resistance to various reducing chemicals
- Widely used to handle caustic soda
- Resistance to numerous organic solutions and caustic lye
