Alloy 28 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. It has a high resistance to pitting, cursive corrosion and to stress-corrosion. Developed as a material for service in highly aggressive and corrosive environments, this alloy is especially resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acid. The alloy 28 has a similar specification as alloy 825 tubes.
Characteristics
- Excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance
- Very good resistance to oxidizing media and strong acids
- Good resistance to sulphide cracking
- High resistance to inter granular, pitting and crevice corrosion
- Good weld ability and formability
Market applications:
- Chemical processing
- Oil and gas industry
- Pollution control equipment
- Acid production
- Hydraulic systems
